Zoe Saldana's parents Asalia And Aridio Saldana, were born 19 June 1978, in Passaic New Jersey. Both her parents have both been Puerto Ricans. She was raised by her mother in Queens. The family she was raised with moved from Queens, NY and to the Dominican Republic when she was 10-years-old; they stayed there for seven years. While living there, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and enrolled in the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was taught ballet, as well as various other forms of dance.
