She competed for Miss Columbus 1985 and won the title, kissing the crown and defeating every competitor. In the wake of her success she was eligible to take part in the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. On Saturday, June 22nd, 1985 she also won the contest. Mohr was then invited in September of 1985, to be a part of Georgia at Miss America 1986, a pageant which was held at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mohr was, however, a Top-10 finalist for the title of Miss America.
